Active ingredient: lidocaine

  • AmidesATC code: N01BBSource: ATC

Allergy cross-reactivity

  • Amide local anesthetics

    Risk level: Low

Other active ingredients in the same group:

    • articaine
    • bupivacaine
    • mepivacaine
    • prilocaine

Notes: Cross-reactivity among amides is rare and no ester-amide cross-reactivity occurs. True IgE-mediated LA allergy is rare (<1%); most reactions are caused by methylparaben. Do not give a binary safe/allergic answer; consult a specialist.
